Colour Series Rises to the Top in Mid-to-High Speed Ranges

Konica Minolta Business Solutions Australia Pty Ltd (Konica Minolta), a leading provider of advanced imaging and networking technologies for the desktop to the print shop, today announced that Buyers Laboratory Inc. (BLI) has awarded Konica Minolta 2010 Summer “Pick” Awards for the bizhub C652DS, bizhub C552, and bizhub C452 Series of Colour MFDs in their respective categories of the A3/Ledger Colour MFD segment.

Indeed, the Konica Minolta bizhub C652DS, C552 and C452 underwent a combined 600,000 impressions of durability testing with a total of just six misfeeds and no service required. In fact, the flawless reliability performance of the bizhub C452 was the best among business colour models in its speed range since late 2005.

Superior image quality is another hallmark of the devices. “Colour print quality is a big differentiator for Konica Minolta, as unlike the majority of business colour models we test, all three of these models produced output that received high marks for both business graphics output and photographic image output,” said BLI Managing Editor Daria Hoffman. For more graphics-intensive environments, an EFI Fiery controller is also available for all the devices.

All the machines exhibited fast speeds when copying multiple sets in colour, while the C552 and C652 also demonstrated fast first-copy times in colour. Performance when running BLI’s colour job stream test was also above average for all the machines. In addition to the strong copy and print productivity, scan speeds are faster than average in both colour and black for each device and colour scan file size is smaller than average.

All the models are also on the cutting edge for innovation and offer comprehensive security features, including standard hard drive overwriting. With the MyTab feature, a Spring 2009 BLI “Outstanding Achievement” winner, commonly used print job selections can be configured and saved on the main tab, which can be different for each user. As all required features can be viewed at a glance, this capability allows users to take full advantage of the driver feature set with a minimum of fuss and less risk of errors. Further, the Quick Copy control panel menu allows users to select most commonly features for typical copy jobs without having to navigate other menus. Third-party software developers can also integrate their document management and cost accounting solutions with the devices. All the machines also offer robust feature sets, including high paper capacities and above average paper handling ability.

“Receiving the BLI Summer 2010 “Pick” for all products in the departmental colour range further highlights the impressive capability of Konica Minolta’s office equipment,”says Reese Malcolm, product manager, office group, Konica Minolta Business Solutions Australia.
