Who is Nikki Barlow?

INTRODUCING NIKKI BARLOW!

Nikki Barlow has joined the Docsol team as our new Service Administration Assistant last 2nd July 2018. Nikki will answer some quirky questions so we can get a better insight to one of our newest team member:

Q. Tell me a little about your personal life – are you married, children? Etc

A. I am originally from Derby in the UK. After leaving school I completed the equivalent of a Certificate 4 in Beauty Therapy as well as a Certificate 3 in Customer Services. I came over to Australia on a working holiday visa and now 10 years on, I am a permanent resident living on the Gold Coast with my 2 boys. We have also gained 2 cats in the process. In the little spare time I have with 2 young children, I like to go to the gym, go to the cinema, relaxing by the pool as well as listening and singing to 80’s 90’s 60’s & 70’s music!

Q. How did you become a Service Administration Assistant?

A. I enjoy working in an office and genuinely care about good customer service. I think I got the job because, apart from being able to follow simple instructions in the selection process, they could see me for the great, enthusiastic and amazing person that I am!

Q. How would you describe yourself in 3 words?

A. Really really funny.

Q. What is something about you that nobody here at Docsol knows?

A. I only have 1 kidney.

Q. What is the best thing since sliced bread?

A. iPad/iPhone. I always thought I would never let my kids spend time on them. Now they are the things that help keep my sanity.

Q. What is the best trip you have taken – where and why?

A.  I’ve been to a lot of great places, but I guess Egypt stands out. It was only a day trip. When we arrived our coach was waiting for us, where we were then taken to our various destinations, including the Egyptian Museum which homes Egyptian antiques, mummies and artifacts from Tutankhamen’s tomb, ending up at our final destination, the Pyramids and the Sphinx of Giza. It was such an amazing experience and completely surreal. It is something I will never forget. I will also never forget the police escort we received whilst travelling around! Our coach was completely surrounded by police bikes and cars and they didn’t even let us stop for traffic lights.

Q. If you won 1 million dollars, how would you spend it?

A. I’d take the family for a trip around the world. Buy a great house. Finally do my bike test. Then keep what little I have left in the bank and enjoy the interest grow.

Q. Name five famous people (dead or alive) that you would invite to your dinner party.

A. Mick Jagger, Michael McIntyre, Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hardy and Charlie Hunnam.

Q. Are you a dog or cat person?

A. That’s a tough one. I’m a big fan of both. I’d probably sway more towards a dog though, as they’re more responsive to a cuddle!

Q. If money and time was not an obstacle, what would you do with your life?

A. I would open an animal shelter and save all the animals in the world!
